Witches in the Northern Hemisphere are delighted to finally be at the start of autumn today. This last week I have contemplated how special this time of year it is. For me the Autumn Equinox has a calm but powerful energy: we are given a gentle push through the seasonal gates into a magical time we can devote to balance, self reflection, regeneration, and resolution. We are moving into the darker side of the year: the nights will grow longer as we move towards the Otherworldy Samhain and then to the regenerative Yule. This is the season of spiritual devotion and personal development. For those with hearts full of magic there is a true and powerful sense of connecting with the Otherworld at this time of year.
The Autumn Equinox is a distinctive time when you can reflect on all that you’ve harvested in your life and set intentions on how you can further develop stable and balanced wellness moving forward. I personally like to use this time to ponder all that I have experienced in the past few months, thinking about obstacles I’ve overcome and the prosperity I have manifested.
Below are a few questions that relate to the themes and magic of the Autumn Equinox to help you with this same reflective exercise. You can use the questions as journal or story prompts, things to meditate on, things to discuss with friends or loved ones. Have a wonderful Autumn Equinox/Mabon!
